BearDog Security is a family owned and operated business based out of Northern Alberta. With over 25 years of experience in bear aversion and animal behavior, BearDog Security is one of the best in the industry.
Established in 2007, we provide a non-lethal and environmentally friendly method of deterring bears through the use of Karelian Bear Dogs. Our methods have proven to be very effective in reducing bear encounters, while keeping both the public and the bears safe.
Our Dogs
Karelian Bear Dogs are a Finnish/Karelian breed bred primarily for hunting. These dogs tend to have a very energetic and fearless demeanor, which coupled with their agile movements, makes them an exceptional partner when working with bears. They are typically black in colour with white markings.
